After a traumatic incident, young medical student James Hayman (Namir Smallwood) transfers to a rural hospital to start over. Dr. Harrison (stage veteran and actor Michael Potts) notices that James is struggling and has difficulty connecting with patients, and suggests he take a course that focuses on bedside manners and deeper connections with patients. Demons from James’ past begin to catch up with him when he is consumed by the case of a young asthmatic patient (Sidney Flanigan, NEVER Rarely Sometimes Always) with mysterious symptoms. His grip on reality begins to slip as his disturbing nightmares, anxious speculations, and physical injuries collide with the harsh realities of the medical world. Director Alex Thompson has assembled a strong ensemble of seasoned actors in this humanistic and unconventional vision of the genre in this sequel to SAINT FRANCES – and prequel to GHOSTLIGHT.
